This is how you remind me of someday…

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

I probably missed the boat on this one but I just stumbled on this. I’ve always gone off on bands that don’t write their own shit, but these guys actually seem to have ripped themselves off. Of course, it could be a case of forgotten tunes creeping into their heads or something - like the time I ‘wrote’ the intro to “Under the Bridge” by the Chili Peppers and my friend had to break it to me… anyway, this is how you remind me of someday.

Brain dump catchup

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

We’re setting up a blog at work and it made me realize how long it’s been since I came here to write about anything. Crap. So here’s the stream-of-consciousness, no punctuation, just puke out words version of what I’ve been up to…

Busy busy at work lots going on got emailed by some old friends and have been too busy to reply should go do that in a bit and their going to turn me into a mac guy at work which is pretty cool but damned they’re expensive the computer I’m on now is over 6 years old and dying though so maybe it’s time I’m making a cool classified website at work even though it’s using Perl for the back end it’s still pretty neat haven’t talked to my brother either oh my Dad’s turning 50 soon and that’s pretty crazy finally got snow and I’m as depressed about it as I thought I was going to be started doing ajax stuff at work a lot more and I’m using jQuery which is super cool in a bunch of ways once you get used to it and I haven’t had hardly any time at home to do all of the work I’m supposed to be doing I mean really I’ve only got a couple of clients and I can’t keep up with them it’s probably because I don’t get home till after 6 and by then I’m fried oh well I’m busting my butt which reminds me I need to go to the bank and set up a business account so I can bill people oh and I’ve been stuck in the middle of switching hosts for over a month now which is ridiculous but it takes so long to do that I just can’t seem to get it all done and to top it all off I’ve got over 2000 emails in my inbox I’ve got to clean out and I think it’s time for lunch.

That leaves me with one question… does the apostrophe count as pucntuation?

The World’s Highest Website – a CSS Experiment

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

After a long stint away from bloggy world (busy, busy busting butt at work), a friend sent me The World’s Highest Website – a CSS Experiment and I was tickled. It’s a CSS experiment and, realistically, not a very useful one but, still, it’s kinda cool.

I’m wondering though… they control the height of the “world’s highest div element” by setting the font size to be 100cm (that’s centimeters). Now, centimeters are a standard size on paper but is a centimeter on my monitor the same as a centimeter on yours? I doubt it. So it’s not exactly 18.939 kilometers high… but relatively speaking, it’s pretty damned big.

Oh, and they were nice enough to provide a print style sheet that skips the printing of over 11 miles of paper… just in case you’re weird enough to try to print such a silly page. The lines wouldn’t print by default anyway but who’s keeping track anyway?

Enjoy.

Scrybe - a cool calendar application

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

Scrybe looks really cool. Watch this video and decide for yourself. I’m already pretty reliant on Google calendar… but this looks like it might win in a brawl.
