I’ve made the switch to Macland, as I said last time around… and it’s really got me changing how I look at this whole being an Internet geek thing. I’m finding that the time I spend relaxing at home and researching things I want to learn about is more valuable than the few bucks a month I make in maintenance fees from my clients.
What I’m working my way to saying is that I’m seriously considering letting my clients go. Unfortunately, I feel I owe them something - one is like my second mother and the others are good folks that don’t know much about the Internet.
But I do think I need the downtime. I need to focus on my career… and that’s getting more and more intense. Actually, there’s as much challenge at work as I can handle - so there’s no shortage of things to do or learn or places to go there. I’m excited. So, I regretfully feel that it’s in the best interest of my tired little mind to let my clients go - no hard feelings or anything - I just need the head room… to focus on life. You know - come home at the end of the day and be done working. Wow, what a thought.
I know, I’ll find them somebody to replace me. Someone who’s good but cheap and all of that stuff. Anybody want to volunteer?

I finally made the switch. I bought a Mac - a MacBook. I’m psyched. I’ve been doing crazy stuff at work - learning Eclipse, unix, Zope stuff - all kinds of things. I’m most excited about making the switch to mac-land. I’ve got to say - almost everything’s easier on a Mac!
Anyway, I’ve been slowly making the transition from my old PC to the mac - I haven’t been checking my email as much… things have been falling to the wayside as I generally change the way I use the computer. I should post some of the cool stuff I’ve been doing at work. An old friend found my blog and posted and I didn’t even know for over a month. There are a few people out there who haven’t seen me in a long time so here’s the update:
Live in Nashua, NH with my girlfriend and her daughter. My daughter lives with her mother in MA but I get to see her on a regular separated daddy schedule (which sucks but is better than nothing). I work at the Eagle-Tribune Publishing company as a web designer/webmaster (depending on who you’re talking to I guess). I like to cook. I fell roller skating and my arm hurts. I have a few friends I don’t get to see much but I did that to myself, being an anti-social prick who hides in his cave. I’ve been playing less and less guitar as I grow older and have less time available… I feel terribly guilty about it. My brother lives with his wife in NY. I need to register my car before the cops catch me.
So, long lost friends, that’s the update. Love you all.

Scrybe looks really cool. Watch this video and decide for yourself. I’m already pretty reliant on Google calendar… but this looks like it might win in a brawl.
So, I’ve been razzed into actually posting a little something about myself here. My two loyal readers have successfully taunted me into a post that doesn’t involve linking to something else or posting a snippet of code. Hmmmm…
I turned 30 on the 29th. I tried my best to not write a post on it. In fact, all I have to say on the matter doesn’t make for good reading. Although, it is probably better than nothing.
So here goes. (more…)
